Germany’s Anton Zaslavski, also known as Zedd, has got quite a few tricks up his sleeve. That’s what this suggests in his new remix to Empire of The Sun’s single “Alive.” We see an amazing mixture of his old and new style in combination throughout its entirety, beginning with some heavy electro to kick it off, followed by a more up-to-date style with his electro house touch to continue. The full version drops May 21st, so be sure to grab a copy of one of Zedd’s more energetic remixes to date thus far.
Update: Added the full track that was uploaded to youtube today (May 13th) instead of the preview.
Aylen has been one of the fastest growing electronic artists over the last year killing everything he touches while hitting on all kinds of genres. A couple of days ago he graced us with this 2013 Bootleg Pack full of mash-ups of songs from across the EDM scene. A couple of my favorites are “Cheyenne Chasin’ Something About The Fire” and “House Feels So Fn’ Close,” but all the tracks deserve a listen and show your support for the man who is becoming a legend before our very eyes. You can listen to and download the individual tracks as well as the full continuous mix below.
Bring on the remixes. We gave you Aylen’s stellar remix of this beauty of a song the other day and now Canada’s own, Moiez gives us his take. He slows down the vocals a little bit and really brings out that amazing voice right before it goes flips on you and goes into a great electro drop. Listening to the intro I thought I was about to be blown away by some progressive synths but then it took me by surprise and I must say it was a good surprise. Moiez’s soundcloud says he is looking for a booking agent which blows my mind because I don’t know how this guy hasn’t been picked up yet after everything he has dropped. Be sure to be on the look out for more remixes of this song that will surely be coming soon.
After Zedd released the vocals of his title track “Clarity” off of his newest album, I knew there would be a bunch of remixes making the news. One that has already stood out is from the rising producer Aylen, who jumped right on it and made the almost impossible task of remixing a Zedd song look easy. His interpretation keeps Foxes liquid vocals in order to maintain the softness of the original, but combines subtle bass melodies with punchy kicks without ruining the original vibe. From a screenshot he uploaded to his Facebook a couple weeks ago, it seems he’s got a massive set of tracks to release in the future. So don’t be surprised if an Aylen post becomes a weekly thing, but for now you can enjoy this remix as a free download below:
It’s been a long time coming, but everyone knew that Zedd would deliver on his first album, and man did he do just that. Standing at a total of ten tracks, Clarity is packed with power right from the start. The album flows amazingly well, so if you have the time, it is best to listen to it in one sitting; however, if you don’t then I’ll highlight some of my favorite tracks.
I like to think that Clarity is a great place for radio music to head. The album moves from progressive house/dance to electro house and then back to progressive/dance. Lighter progressive tracks like “Hourglass,” “Spectrum,” and “Clarity,” lead into Zedd’s electro-house style. I’d have to say my three favorite are “Codec,” “Stache,” and “Fall into the Sky,” but I’ve always been a fan of Zedd’s harder style. There’s bound to be something of your liking; you can stream the album in its entirety below, but be sure to purchase it on iTunes below for an easy $7.99.
