Aylen 2013 Bootleg Pack

Author:

Aylen has been one of the fastest growing electronic artists over the last year killing everything he touches while hitting on all kinds of genres. A couple of days ago he graced us with this 2013 Bootleg Pack full of mash-ups of songs from across the EDM scene. A couple of my favorites are “Cheyenne Chasin’ Something About The Fire” and “House Feels So Fn’ Close,” but all the tracks deserve a listen and show your support for the man who is becoming a legend before our very eyes. You can listen to and download the individual tracks as well as the full continuous mix below.

[EP Release] Monsta – Monsta EP

Author:

The tracks on Monsta’s newest EP have all the makings of radio hits, following the verse-chorus-verse song structure with an addition of catchy vocal hooks. The group is composed of producers Rocky and Rufio and vocalist Skaar. They aren’t your typical electronic musicians, as they tend to stay away from using samples and prefer instrument based productions. The EP consists of three original mixes, with all three tracks remixed by some of my favorite bass centered artists: Skrillex, Nero, Alvin Risk, Dillon Francis, and Kill Paris. “Holdin’ On” could be a huge radio hit and I think it is the best representation of Skaar’s talent. Because the EP was released off of Skrillex’s label OWSLA, he alongside Nero, remixed “Holdin’ On,” which has garnered our attention from a preview released earlier. The Dillon Francis and Kill Paris remix of “Where Did I Go” is another favorite of mine, which is rare for me because there aren’t too many tracks that I’ve liked when DF has collaborated with someone else. Stream the full EP below and head over to iTunes or Beatport for the purchase link.

[EP Release] Nero – Won’t You (Be There) [Remixes] + Etude

Author:

NC gave you guys a preview a few weeks ago of Nero’s highly anticipated “Won’t You (Be There)” mix and now we’ve got an extra track plus two remixes off of their newest EP. The song itself is phenominal and if you want to read NC’s review head over here. Both Baauer and Club Cheval decided to do trap remixes of the track, with Club Cheval’s more anthem sounding. Baauer of course, has been tearing up the trap game with tracks like “Yaow!” and “Harlem Shake.” It’s no surprise this would be any different, with their fluid infusion of dubstep and hip-hop. “Etude” is a phenominal track, the beginning reminds me of the Welcome Reality album. However it takes a different turn during the build up, when they combine the arpeggiator with powerful kicks and sidechain those wonderfully dark symphony sounds. Stream em all and grab it from iTunes below:

MONSTA – Holdin On (Skrillex & Nero Remix)

Author:

MONSTA is the newest group to join OWSLA and Skrillex chose to welcome them to the group with a dazzling drum & bass remix with Nero of MONSTA’s first single “Holdin On.” MONSTA is a three person electronic group with killer vocals that seem to reach to the skies. MONSTA will release its first EP on October 23rd with more originals as well as more remixes and it should be gigantic if this remix is any indication.

Nero – Won’t You (Be There)

Author:

Nero have just released a dirty new track for free download, entitled “Won’t You (Be There).” According to the Nero boys’ Facebook, they made this track to play out in their DJ sets, but decided to give it away for free to hold us over while they are working on their second album. This, and another original track, “Etude,” will be on the re-release of Welcome to Reality, out October 22nd. This track is huge (and free), so don’t miss it.
