Oliver – Dirty Talk EP

I know I’m late in the game for the Dirty Talk EP, as it came out in the beginning of January, but its still an awesome album that you should have in your iTunes if your a fan of Disco/Nu Disco. Oliver has a good amount of tracks on their Soundcloud page and I expect them to blow up in 2012 if they continue to come out with this sort of material. I can’t find much information on them, but I know its two guys from Los Angelas. They’ve gotten a ton of support from other artists and it wasn’t until they came out with a remix of Chromeo’s “Hot Mess” that people started to pay attention to them. If you want something that’s still upbeat, but isn’t completely bonkers than give this group a shot.

Progressive/Trance

Here some ragin’ tunes. 3 of the 4 are rips, but are all huge! I might have lied with the progressive, but it was only not to steer heads away from listening. “Afterthought” remix, by Heatbeat, is by far my favorite. Huge anticipation since premiering TATW 400 in Beirut a couple months ago. I also had no clue it’d be out on my favorite label, Anjunabeats.

501 ft. Belle Humble – Headrush/Falling Skies

If you were to ask me to give you info about 501, then you’re out of luck. If you were to ask me do you know who 501 is, then I’d say hell yeah, his music is harmony to my ears. He produces dubstep, but it’s not about how hard he goes or anything of that nature like a lot of big dubstep producers. He has the perfect amount of melody, whomp, glitch, vocals, and just anything that you like he does it. The two songs off his new EP are fire tunes and you should get your hands on these.

Gettin Lucky

These two songs both have starts of soft intros that grow and grow until both eventually drop into some electro. The first song “Mellow” is anything but when it drops into a groovy beat that’ll make you drop. The next song is assisted by Miss Wynter Gordon’s Vocals which help the build to an amazing drop. Enjoy.

Electro In The Air

Please bare with me cause this post is going to cover a wide spectrum of general electronic music. This first one I’ve been holding onto for a while and it was one of my favorite songs for some time. It’s got that dutchy atmosphere that everyone likes and is a remix by Skeet Skeet, who did my favorite remix of “Pumped Up Kicks.”

“Gone Gone Gone” could definitely be classified as a jam band, but they incorporate so many electronic elements into their songs that I thought I would leave this one with you guys as well. It was one of the few electronic songs I listened to before I was absorbed into this genre.

This is the funkiest of the bunch and I wish it were longer. Its just over two minutes and could have a lot more done with it, so if there are any Producers out there, try this song out.

I don’t think that “Glock” will be for everybody. Its really different, but if it wasn’t for its uniqueness and Moombahton vibes I wouldn’t give it a try. I’m still not completely convinced that I like it.

This is the last one and I thought I would end with some Trash Electro. I’ve become a fan of this sub genre over the past couple months and its basically a harder style of electronic music. Keplar starts out slow, but then builds up into a monster. I feel like every Trash Electro song has that choir sound in it.

Progressive Overload

Got some great tunes for you today. I filtered through my favorite songs, recent and old, and I found some dank dank dank tunes. First up is a remix by the rising star Deniz Koyu. He uses the vocals really similarly, but the melody is topnotch. You’ll have a large sense of happiness when this song is blasted through your speakers. Next we have one a very fun track by Dr. Kucho! called, “To Russia With Love“. It’s really hard to explain this song other than that it sounds Russian and progressive. Then we have a song I stumbled across by accident, but thats when you get the best surprises. The electric organ chords are so uplifting, which is why I really like this song. Last, but as you know us, it is certainly not least, we have an amazing remix of Gareth Emery’s track “Tokyo“. The original is amazing and we at the hive are big supporters of it, but this track is up there with the original. It is such a huge tune that is meant for those epic moments at the peak moment of the show.
