Deadmau5 – Cthulhu Dreams

Deadmau5 has created an alternate version of his 4×4=12 hit “Cthulhu Sleeps,” which he says is an angrier version. It starts out with atmospheric sounds, but you can see what he means once the bass kicks in. Loving these alternate versions he’s been coming out with lately and on top of “Cthulhu Dreams,” he came out with another sample called “Shits Fashionable I Guess” that has some Skrillex flair to it. I also added another tid bit from his Soundcloud that I really hope he ends up doing something with.

Afrojack & R3hab – Prutataaa (Incl. Remixes)

Finally the remixes for “Prutataaa” are out. If you don’t remember this was Afrojack’s huge hit he introduced at Ultra last year with R3hab. This moment also seemed to be R3habs breakout moment. Amazingly these remixes revived my fascination with the track all over again. The remixes were a day late, but luckily I survived. My favorite of the bunch is Angger Dimas‘ remix, followed by the random Darth & Vader, and lastly is Dada Life’s remix. Also I have a really nice unofficial moombahton remix for the moombahton fans out there.

MLK DAY HONEY

The first artist for today is newcomer Archie V. which you might recognize from his collab with Fareoh on 2012. His music is real uplifting and is something you can listen to at anytime. The next song “Never Again” stays progressive but gets some dub sounds used near the end which spice it up and turn it from being an anytime tune to being designated for a great party. Michael Woods is back on the third track on he takes on one of Funkagenda’s tunes “Shinjuku.” He uses that progressive electro sound we have come to expect to perfection. Finally, I don’t know much about Beef Theatre but after hearing their electro banger “President Evil” I can’t wait to hear more. Enjoy.

Matisse & Sadko [Artist]

Finally I have two guys not from Sweden that make some amazing progressive music. Reigning from Russia these two brothers, Matisse & Sadko, have collaborated with some big names for some big time chunes. Their support is endless from artist to artist and their tracks are huge. Purely progressive in nature, they add familiar synths into epic sounding tracks. Without ruining their intro any further here are some of my favorite tacks with the Russian’s names on them.

Milkman – Fragments EP

When I first heard of Milkman, back in his mash up days, I didn’t think much of him. Yeah he had some good mashups, “Circle of Fifths”, “Rap Music is Beneath Me”, etc., but it was until he came out with his first original track “Breaking Free” that I knew this guy had some hidden talents he was waiting to show the rest of us. His newest EP is beyond great and currently held the #2 spot on the electronic section of iTunes. If there is one thing I can say about this album, it is to not only to listen to it, but listen to it front to end. It flows very well, and this is a trend I’ve started to notice artists doing. We first saw it in Overwerk’s newest EP, as well as Skrillex’s Bangarang EP.

Now to the tracks, it’s hard to come up with a favorite when all the tracks are great and they all have different elements for different settings. “Powers Like Kenny” is the best one for parties/getting pumped up/whatnot. Its got the high intensity that you need for any situation and I’m sure it will be the most recognized song on Fragments. “Occupy Spotlight” really reminded me of the first song (The Nth) on Overwerk’s album. It starts out kind of bland, but works its way up into something completely compelling and original. I think “Revelry” is my all time favorite on the EP though. It has all the elements I need in a song and it isn’t too much craziness that you can listen to it by your self, but also has that attitude that makes it great to listen with other people. And finally, I have to mention “So Much For Clockwork.” Its got a great build and turns into a head bumping song with dutchy elements. The entire EP is awesome and you should give all these songs a listen. Check them out below and form your own opinion about Milkman, spread the word if your a fan:

Freakin Weekend

Today I’ve we have all kinds of songs to blast throughout the weekend. The first one is a Glitch Mob remix of Bassnectar’s “Heads Up” and Glitch Mob kills it with its classic electro sound. The next song is just a great house jam that’s good for anytime of day. Thirdly, if that’s a word, is a very uplifting and feel good track called “Reach For Me.” Finally is David Guetta and Nicky Romero’s take on Flo Rida and Sia’s jam “Wild Ones.” A few days ago I posted Sex Ray Vision’s Remix of it and loved it but DG and NR bring some competition. Enjoy.
