Three incredible artist team up to remix Konshen’s “Gal a Bubble” and bring that fusion of moombahton, reggae, and dance flavor to the table. Major Lazer had his album come out last month and ever since Switch left, Diplo is able to churn out tracks faster than ever under his other personality. This one’s a free download as well, which you can get from Major Lazer’s Soundcloud below.
Yes you read that title correctly, Daft Punk have decided to put their full album out on iTunes and you can stream all seventy-four minutes of it for free. We don’t know whether this was another pre-planned decision of their marketing team to bring more hype for the album or a response to the album’s leaking. Regardless of their intentions, you can give Random Access Memories a listen at the link below, stay tuned for a review once we hit the album’s proper release date on May 21st.
FMLYBND, pronounced “Family Band,” is a group of six close friends, including Ethan Davis of Candyland. The excpetional amount of members in this group allows their productions to encompass a variety of sounds contributed by each, and “Electricity” definitely shows this through their original vocals, synth work, and incorporation of instruments into a single track. The amount of interest I had when I came across “Electricity” was almost diminished after reading that they were having trouble getting the money to fund their first record. That was back in January, however, and it looks like they may have found a way with the release of this track. Be sure to like them on Facebook if you’re a fan and for news of their upcoming album:
Ta-Ku gives us his take on on Flume‘s “Left Alone” with a strong, bumping rework. The fellow Aussie provides massive trap treatment, this is one to play on the loud speakers or not at all. Flume followed through on his promise of making this track up for free download once it got 1000 shares on Soundcloud, so hit play below and grab the free download if (when) you like what you hear! Also, if you’re not familiar with the Australian beatmaster Ta-Ku, check out the recent guest mix he did for Potato or his Boiler Room LA set.
Digitaria, the brazilian duo best known for their deep house vibes has released their highly anticipated Shine EP on Hot Creations. The title track A-Side, “Shine,” plays with Daniela’s mesmerizing voice and sexy synths and bass to produce one of my favorite dance tracks out right now. “Mystic Flow,” the B-side, is a bouncy track that brings in some organ sounding synths with fat bass. You may recognize it from Hot Creations label co-boss Lee Foss‘ Chicago-themed Essential Mix from the end of last year. Reworks come from from Morgan Geist and wAFF, both bring enjoyably fresh takes on “Shine,” so don’t miss out. Sample the EP below and support it on Beatport!
Gorgon City are stamped to be one of the hottest new acts of 2013, and there’s no surprise why. The powerful collaboration of North London DJ’s Foamo & RackNRuin has already produced some great works that fuse house, garage and bass music with precision. Released on Black Butter Recordings, the label that brought us 2012′s breakout artist Rudimental, Gorgon City’s new “Real” EP has been making waves, getting exposure on Radio 1 and Rinse FM. Speaking of Black Butter, they are throwing a release party for this EP at Santo’s in NYC on March 18th, so check that out later this month if you are in NYC.
