Drop:Supernova

Shogun is one of the producers you have to be proud of. With trance being a predominantly international genre, Shogun has come up the ranks as one of the most successful trance producer from America in the modern era. We have the likes of Gabriel & Dresden, Norin & Rad, and only a couple other within the select few, so it is quite an honor for Shogun to achieve the things he has in such a short time. Regardless of what shows he has headlined and previous works of music, his new two song EP has garnered support indicative of his entire career. The first song “Drop” is currently #2 accompanied by “Supernova” at #4 on the Trance Beatport charts. I confidently foresee Shogun having big things lined up for this summer, and I can’t wait to see what he does. If you haven’t head this EP yet, stop what you are doing and get with it.

Ummet Ozcan – Here & Now (Original Mix)

Ummet Ozcan Here & Now

One track we all knew was going to be a highlight of Ultra was, “The Code”. The collaboration between W&W and Ummet Ozcan took the EDM community by storm sweeping the #1 spot on Beatport and holding it there for over a week. These trance legends aren’t typical to any other genre, except recently we have seen producers like Paul Oakenfold, Gareth Emery, Ashley Wallbridge, Armin Van Buuren and plenty of others experiment with different sounds and genres. Now we have Ummet Ozcan with his new song, “Here & Now”. This song is bananas. It’s easy to hear that Ummet comes from a strict trance background, but then the song continues to progress into the craziest tech/progressive track of the year so far. If you want to get the dance floor jumping, play this song.

Ultra Girls

Today I have decided to go away from the norm of overloading you with songs from Ultra. Basically if you follow music like me then you are overloaded with new tunes to listen to, so much for me that songs of different genre start to sound the same. I have four amazing songs ranging from techno to house and all the in between. These songs are perfect for spring break, so if you haven’t ventured off anywhere yet, make sure you bring these tunes to become the beach god of house music. The only familiar name to me is Erick Morillo, but don’t let that fool you. ZHU remixes a TJR song that he made mocking house music by using his voice and no production involved. ZHU creates a TJR-esque track out of nothing, plus it’s FREE. The last song that I have been listening to for the past couple weeks is by, The Peacemaker Project. This song is a deep progressive house gem. Off Anjunadeep, it is one of the best house songs I have heard in awhile.

Tritonal ft. Underdown – Bullet That Saved Me (Original Mix)

Bullet Tritonal

Tritonal is by far one of the fastest growing trance duos of the past year. They haven’t been necessarily unknown, but lets just say they have become exponentially better since 2011. I have been lucky enough to see one of their sets in Charlotte last year, which definitely showed how far they came within their sound and especially their DJ abilities. I’ve heard the previews of their new work and it is very different, yet still very good. Hearing them head experiment with other genres like dubstep, electro, and progressive, I was ver skeptical. Now after hearing their most recent release, I’m caught saying I want more again and again. Regardless of what this duo is creating, it is easy to say I am a Tritonian.

To hear more of their new stuff go to there Soundcloud and check out their new chillout track, “Bring Me Home”. Also subscribe to get more previews as they start to surface. #TranceFamily

ASOT

Today I have some of my favorite Progressive House & Trance, plus all of the in between, that has been released in recent weeks. The first four songs are ones that I specifically remember hearing at two recent concerts I attended, Cosmic Gate and W&W, which were both absolutely amazing as both duos kept the tunes pumping until three in the morning. The first tune on the blocks is a signature 4AM remix by Dash Berlin of his hit track from last year, “Fool For Life”. The next three are all tunes I heard while attending the W&W set. I actually have two of the tracks on video, each before their release dates. The tracks I’m referring to are the Gareth Emery original cover and the MaRLo original that premiered on ASOT 2013. The Gareth Emery track is amazing for the classic melody from the classic, “Meet Her at the Love Parade”. The last two tracks are also great tunes that deserve a listen. Fisherman & Hawkins have been making some great tunes with “Apache” and now “Gold”, so keep an eye out for these two.
