After hearing that “Love Sosa” was RL Grime‘s favorite rap song from last year, it’s no surprise to hear that has come out with this official remix. It’s like he had to do it after his ever-popular “Mercy” remix last year. RL Grime is back at it again with a huge, horn-heavy, trap monster that’s going to blow minds and speakers. Apparently it’s free download on soundcloud for today only, so cop it quick!
I’d like to introduce you all to Sharkoffs, an fast-rising electro producer and friend of The Hive. A Miami, Florida native, Sharkoffs makes devastating complextro tracks that will knock you off your feet. Sharkoffs stays anonymous, but has been DJ’ing since he was 15, drawing inspiration from artists like Wolfgang Gartner, Deadmau5 and Crookers, among others. He recently made his Beatport debut with “KomaKiller” and hasn’t slowed down one bit, following it up with “All Your Bass” and the brand new “Shark Attack.” Serious heat is all he produces, so be on the lookout for our boy in the future. Check out the tracks, the (insane) music video and the social links below, then head to Beatport to support Sharkoffs!
Pretty Lights hit us this morning with the premier of his new single with Talib Kweli “Around The Block.” This legendary collaboration is the first single off his new album A Color Map Of The Son. Those at Coachella were lucky enough to hear him play this live last night in the desert. It’s a “feel good, summertime hip hop jam…all about slowing down and enjoying the best moments in life.” This tune incorporates the glitchy electro funk noises and hip hop vibes we’ve come to love and expect from Derek. Check out the official music video below, then head over to prettylightsmusic.com to grab the free download.
Ta-Ku gives us his take on on Flume‘s “Left Alone” with a strong, bumping rework. The fellow Aussie provides massive trap treatment, this is one to play on the loud speakers or not at all. Flume followed through on his promise of making this track up for free download once it got 1000 shares on Soundcloud, so hit play below and grab the free download if (when) you like what you hear! Also, if you’re not familiar with the Australian beatmaster Ta-Ku, check out the recent guest mix he did for Potato or his Boiler Room LA set.
Here’s an exceptional new freebie to take you into the weekend courtesy of electro funk guru, GRiZ. This track features himself on the saxophone, some really nice guitar riffs from Muzzy and the James Brown vs. 2pac sample from Django. It’s a bomb, which is what we’ve come to expect from the homie GRiZ. The word is this track is going to have a place on his second record. He keeps the party going the full 7 minutes of this one, and the end is probably the craziest part. Do yourself and whoever you are with a favor and get down to this funky record this weekend!
Digitaria, the brazilian duo best known for their deep house vibes has released their highly anticipated Shine EP on Hot Creations. The title track A-Side, “Shine,” plays with Daniela’s mesmerizing voice and sexy synths and bass to produce one of my favorite dance tracks out right now. “Mystic Flow,” the B-side, is a bouncy track that brings in some organ sounding synths with fat bass. You may recognize it from Hot Creations label co-boss Lee Foss‘ Chicago-themed Essential Mix from the end of last year. Reworks come from from Morgan Geist and wAFF, both bring enjoyably fresh takes on “Shine,” so don’t miss out. Sample the EP below and support it on Beatport!
