That Dankity-Dank: Videos

Avicii has finally released a music video for his non-stop hit Levels and the video completely took me by surprise. I thought that he would do some huge big-budget video for this song, but they still manage to pack all that power of a big-budget video into an office worker who dies from uncontrollable dancing:

The production value for Nero’s newest music video for their song “Reaching Out” is phenomenal. It completely represents an 80′s Miami montage with its grainy focus and consistently changing composition:

I was stumbling around the internet and found a pretty cool video of some Tron people playing with lasers. I don’t really know how to describe what it is or how they are doing it; lets just say these people are from the future:

And here are some Asians shuffling:

Progressive/Trance

I recently posted this, however since it was a large post I wanted to be sure everyone got a listen of this rhythmic tune. Fresh of the Anjunabeats Vol. 9 album Mat Zo gives us one of his best tracks of the year. The melody is one of my favorites that I’ve heard all well, and when it breaks down it gets funky.

I heard this track while listening to the live sets from TATW 400, and it totally caught me by surprise. I know everyone has heard the original to this song at some point in their life, I guarantee it. Every time I see a remix of song like this, I usually won’t get my hopes up. So thats why when I got about halfway through the song I was really taken away. The drop comes hard and fast, straight electro/trance. I give this track a definite A+.

Huge fan of both these guys. Michael Calfan, Bob Sinclars prodige, just released his amazing track ‘Resurrection‘, and Deniz Koyu, with many tracks in his arsenal, has a huge remix of ‘Turn it Down‘ yet to be released.

Marcus Prime has made some amazing progressive tracks, and two of my favorite happen to be Nervo originals. Check out his remix of ‘We Are No One‘ by Nervo.

Overwerk – The Nth º [Debut Album]

I have been looking towards this album’s release ever since I saw the promo video for it a few weeks ago. There was something about it’s angle that drew me in from the start and while it is a short debut album, it says enough about this artist to grab your attention. We’ve posted a couple tracks by the Canadian electro/dubstep producer in the past, but this is his first EP. The first and title song of the album drags you in from the start with a feeling of grandeur, and then kicks into a heavy bassline about a minute in. Overwerk does a fantastic job mixing electro sounds while adding hints of Dubstep, but not to the point where the wobble takes over the entire track. Check out The Nth º below:

Congorock & The Bloody Beetroots [Releases]

If anyone knows Congorock, then you must know his music is high energy electro with very fidgety sounds. Congorock is most commonly known for his singles, ‘Babylon‘, and more recently ‘Sirius‘. He is also more commonly known for his killer remix of the hit ‘One‘ by Swedish House Mafia, which is still played at festivals today. His new single ‘Ivory‘ doesn’t diverge far from the typical Congorock style. The first word that pops into my head when I hear ‘Ivory‘ is RAVE. With the blaring electro syths all the way through the song you know this track is suitable for any big time show. Also I have a remix by The Bloody Beetroots, which I can say I am very happy to see them releasing some new tracks. Just a couple weeks ago they released their new track ‘Church of Noise‘, granted it isn’t my style with all the screaming, it has some good electro/rock vibes. Today I have the releases of the two songs, and both tracks have been remixed by the other artist, which makes for a very interesting twists. Enjoy some hard hitting electro.

Jesus Died For Our Spins

First up is an original mix by Skeptiks, which reminds me of the dubstep I listened to when I first started getting into the genre. Its got a great slow steady melody and the drop shows some hints of Rusko’s classic style:

Papa Skunk created a great dub song with the original vocals by Marcy Playground. This Sex and Candy remix also has a nice steady melody and doesn’t use any extraneous basslines to get it across:

Next up is another original by iNuxus, which has a great build up into an even greater bassline. It sounds very simple from the beginning but turns into a pretty complex dubstep song with a variety of sounds:

Alvin Risk has been releasing a ton of material recently and I’m guessing that he is going to come out with an EP pretty soon seeing as he’s on Skrillex’s new music label OWSLA. I’m loving the drop on this one, mostly because it has hints of dutch, moombahcore, and dubstep:

Speaking of Skrillex, here is Skrillex remixing Avicii’s “Levels.” I didn’t think that it could be done, but Skrillex did an amazing job turning Avicii’s original in to a dubstep banger:
